Should a player accumulate the third yellow card in a single season, they have the potential to have this tally reduced by one after maintaining a clean disciplinary record across five consecutive matches. Currently, the athlete possesses two more chances to earn a "good conduct bonus" in the Major League Soccer regular season. Should the player remain unpenalized, both in terms of red and yellow cards, and escape any additional disciplinary measures during the upcoming five matches, the total number of yellow cards will be decreased by another one. Consequently, the player would then hold just one yellow card and have one final opportunity for the "good conduct bonus."
