In April 2026, the Timberwolves faced the Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs, with Game 4 taking place at their home court. Just 79 seconds into the match, Donte DiVincenzo, after missing a three-pointer, lunged for the offensive rebound and suffered an injury upon planting his right foot. He collapsed to the ground without any contact from an opponent, clutching his right lower leg in agony. Assisted by team staff, he was led off the court and departed the arena in a wheelchair during the halftime break. Post-game examinations revealed a ruptured Achilles tendon on his right foot, leading to a reconstructive surgery on April 26, effectively ending his season prematurely.
